Yandere-chan with high sanity (above) and low sanity (below). Performing murder results in loss of sanity, making Yandere-chan look increasingly disturbed and unstable, with the game's graphics and background music also reflecting the change. Players control Ayano Aishi (nicknamed Yandere-chan), an apathetic Japanese schoolgirl who has developed a crush on a fellow student Taro Yamada (male) or Taeko Yamada (female), nicknamed '. Over the course of ten in-game weeks, ten other students will attempt to form a relationship with Senpai, and Ayano must prevent them from doing so. Due to her yandere nature, this can be accomplished by the player through a diverse array of methods ranging from peaceful to violent, currently including, incited and after being driven to insanity by and rival specific elimination methods.

Throughout the game, Ayano can receive aid from an information broker calling herself 'Info-chan', who provides her with weapons, plans, items, and other favors in exchange for, information and material. Ayano must also avoid being witnessed while performing criminal activities, or suffer penalties ranging from a loss in reputation that makes it harder for other students to trust her, to diminishing that discourages Senpai and hinders ability to carefully carry out crime, to an immediate game over. Murdering students will result in penalties to 'School Atmosphere', which alters behavior to become more suspicious and riddled with anxiety, demonstrated by actions such as locking their lockers. During this time, she can join school clubs and attend classes to receive additional abilities such as easy access to weapons, increased abilities to avoid suspicion, or easy access to other items.
The developer defines the current state of Yandere Simulator as a 'playable debug sandbox build'. This means that not all features are currently implemented. The final game will contain six modes: Story Mode, the base game; 1980s Mode, a to the base game; Endless Mode, a never-ending version of the base game; Custom Mode, a customizable version of the base game; Pose Mode, in which players may pose their favorite characters; and Mission Mode, in which Ayano completes missions for Info-chan. Development YandereDev (Alex ) is an independent game developer in and has worked at a video game company for three years.
In April 2014, YandereDev pitched the idea for Yandere Simulator on, where it got a lot of positive feedback, so he decided to start developing it. It is a social stealth game that borrows elements from the series of video games, but also contains 'school simulation' gameplay and other elements that seek to make it quite different. The developer has also cited influence from the series of games, in addition to Hitman. Development for Yandere Simulator began in 2014, with YandereDev releasing test builds of the game for debugging purposes. He has regularly released updates that add elements to the game, such as the ability to poison, electrocute, and drown rivals, befriend other schoolgirls, small mini games, a town the player can bike around in, and more. On 1 March 2017, YandereDev announced a partnership with that would help him with polishing and promoting the game. Vincent, Brittany (15 March 2015).

The Japanese anime culture has its weird parts, but western fans have accepted them all over the years. Although you can think of them as rather disturbing in some cases, the creators describe them as purely entertaining, as well as a way for people to experience their fantasies without hurting anyone in the process. Naturally, it was bound for the video game market to pick up on the subject. An infatuated schoolgirl with a mental condition Yandere Simulator is rather difficult to put into words, but it’s certainly not as weird as other things that have come out of anime in the past. In essence, this is a sandbox game with stealth and action elements, in which you play the role of a schoolgirl with a crush on a special boy. Her crush is not to be taken lightly, on the other hand, because she is willing to do much more than just look at pictures of him all day and maybe call and hang up every once in awhile.
Murder is much more to the point, and the game uses Hitman-like gameplay mechanics to make that happen. You are free to walk around the map at all times, although the story is split into days and the clock is always running. It is possible to go to school and a few other places, where you can interact with other characters.
In case you stumble onto a weapon, it is also possible to use it in order to hurt the said characters. Remain hidden and don’t lash out in public Just like in Hitman, it’s not very helpful to kill someone with a lot of witnesses around. It is also in bad taste to walk around drenched in the blood of your victims, so you might want to time your violent sprees with a bit of care. However, murder is not the only item on the menu.
You can also collect items for the shrine dedicated to your crush, or choose between a wide variety of panties. Naturally, it is worth noting that the game features some mature themes every now and again. Besides murder and gore, sexually inappropriate behavior and imagery might come into play as well. On the other hand, your primary goal is not to walk around looking at panties, so that entire side of the game can be avoided if you do not want to have anything to do with it. Pleasant graphics and smooth character animations All in all, Yandere Simulator is still a work in progress, so the game has the potential to get a lot better in time. Even so, the mechanics are quite polished even now, especially when it comes to the stealth aspects and the graphics, although the level design is a bit barren.
New in Yandere Simulator Build:. Added “Hunger Mode” Easter Egg. This one works differently than others. In the beginning, you will move very slowly. Each time you “eat”, you will gain speed. To prevent bugs, Student Council members will now longer shove you or pepper spray you while an easter egg is active. Fixed bug that would cause Kocho and Genka’s profiles to not display properly while inside of Yandere-chan’s home.
Fixed bug that would cause Yandere-chan to be expelled for “Insanity” if she giggled while she was trespassing.
Yandere Simulator is an open world sandbox game that parodies many popular anime concepts. You play as a high schoolgirl who is in love with a boy. This isn’t some twee love story though, because your character is psychotic. Currently, Yandere Simulator is only available as a free demo. Why doesn’t he look at me? Yandere Simulator has you take control of Yandere-Chan.
This easily infatuated high-schooler, is usually loving and gentle, but she quickly becomes psychotically violent when here affections are not returned (a typical behavior for Yandere characters in manga and anime). Your Yandere-Chan is in love with her senpai (the Japanese term for a senior colleague or student), but she is too shy to tell him. So what should you do? Sabotage his love life of course. If a girl approaches your beloved, you must make sure they disappear. In this demo version of the game it should be noted that you can’t “win”, just experience some of the mechanics the developer has in place. This allows you to play in the open-world sandbox, discovering different situations and different ways of dealing with rivals for your senpai's attention (all of which seem to result in more dead high schoolgirls).

There will be a more focused, completable experience coming in future updates. Don't look at me One situation I found my Yandere-Chan in was the school prom. Here, many girls were going after senpai, but when I killed one a witness went to tell a teacher. Luckily, this gave me time to clean the area and cover my tracks. This lead to the witness being labeled as the school liar. However, despite avoiding capture that time, the teachers still kept a close eye on my Yandere-Chan, making further indiscretions harder to get away with. Tracking schedules, teachers, photographs, and using evidence to mislead the police, Yandere Simulator began life as a joke made in rather poor taste.
But gradually it has become a game that - despite being incomplete - guarantees hours of experimentation and creativity. A very promising simulator for otakus Yandere Simulator is a rather creepy take on the stealth genre. But, even in this unfinished state, if the premise interests you and you enjoy the anime tropes it draws from it is certainly worth a look. Do keep in mind, however, that the demo is unstable and may not run on your PC.
