Must have a shared name to be installed globally. Hello guys, im working for a while with the Arma 3 3D Editor and want to add some objects into the map. The steps i did until now: 1.
I Drag out the Mission.SQM file out of the arma3life.altis.pbo folder 2. I converted the Mission.SQM file into the Mission.BIEDI file with this converter - 3. I opened my 3D Editor in Arma 3 and load the Mission.BIEDI file that i have converted.
Im using this 3D Editor - 4. I put some new objects to the map and saved it. Now ive got a BIEDI & SQF file in my folder 5. Now i have to convert the BIEDI file back to the SQM file.
Arma 3 Altis Life
I tried to use this converter - But when i drag the BIEDI file to the 3deconv.exe then the program crash and nothing happens. Does anyone know an other option to convert the BIEDI file into a SQM file?
Or does anyone know an other way to work with the 3D Editor and save the file in the end into an SQM file?
2013-12-01 22:46 Posted by Simply crashed when I launched Freedee Stratis. FreeDee (3D Editor) by HeliJunkie Description: After such a great response I'm happy to realease a first usable alpha Version. The editor now also includes a simple way to export/import objects with.csv file. Installation: Place the included missions in the 'Misision' subdirectory in the Arma 3 folder. Extract into the ArmA 3 Directory, by default this is located in: 32-Bit - C: Program Files Steam/Steamapps Common ArmA 3 64-Bit - C: Program Files (x86) Steam/Steamapps Common ArmA 3 After extraction it should look like this: Steam Steamapps Common ArmA 3 @yourmodfoldername addons You can also use the 'Arma 3 Alpha' folder in your 'My Documents' folder. Your folder setup could than look like for example this: mydocuments Arma3 Alpha @yourmodfoldername1 addons mydocuments Arma3 Alpha @yourmodfoldername2 addons mydocuments Arma3 Alpha @yourmodfoldername2 addons When present place the 'userconfig' folder into your game install folder, usually: 'C: Program Files (x86) Steam steamapps common Arma 3'. You may already have 'userconfig' folder from other addons and/or mods in which case it is safe to merge the contents from this archive. You'll also need to add a Launch Parameter to Steam, in order to do so right-click on ArmA 3 Alpha and click Properties and then Set Launch Options.
In the window that opens enter in -mod=@yourmodfoldername For using multiple mods you would then do so like this: -mod=@modname;@modname2;@modname3;@modname4;@modname5 Note: You can also use -nosplash to get rid of the splash art and intro videos. And of course you can also enable and disable community made addons and mods through the in-game Options Expansions menu if you do not want to mess with startup parameters! When the above information still does not provide you with enough to learn how to install custom addons and mods you can always ask in our. Note: Don't use the 'Arma2Net' mod with this mod! A modified version is already included in this mod!
Included files: HEJ3D.pbo Usage: From main menu select 'Play' 'Scenarios'. Then select 'FreeDee on Altis' or 'FreeDee on Stratis', depends on wich island you want to start editing. A simple manual can be downloaded here: Please also watch video for first introduction.
CSV-file locations: The exported data will be saved in your documents folder under 'HEJ3D CSV%WORLDNAME%.' where%WORLDNAME% will be Stratis or Altis. Notes: Don't use the 'Arma2Net' mod with this mod! A modified version is already included in this mod! Hope there are some developers out there who want to contribute to this project. Even if you are not familar with scripting you may want to create/maintain the manual or create some tutorial videos for this project. Please contact me with a PM over.
