I ran a Belarc Advisor to find out my model of HDD, and according to the results, it's a Seagate Momentus 5400.4 ST9200827AS Hard Drive. Under controllers, this was listed: IDE Channel Controller (4x) Ricoh Memory Stick Controller Ricoh SD/MMC Host Controller Ricoh xD-Picture Card Controller Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller (2x) and BUS adapters: A6NDN2WV IDE Controller Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller (2x) Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller (2x) The first of the bus adapters is the mystery one that changes and causes conflict with the windows 7 installation. Oh, I just did a google search of 'IDE controller changes' and it turns out that Daemontools, a program i seldom use for iso mounting was the culprit for the mystery IDE controller. It was on the list of programs that may not work under the devices that may not work, I just hadn't put two and two together.
